The California Society of Printmakers (CSP) Board is excited to invite you to our 2023 CSP Annual Membership Meeting! We hope you all will be able to join us at Art Ark Gallery in San Jose, CA, where we will be surrounded by our newest exhibition, Printed & Stitched. This is the inaugural show before touring with Exhibit Envoy through 2027.
In addition to enjoying beautiful art and the fellowship of our members, there is a full agenda planned for the day, and beyond! With great pleasure, we will be joined by Daniel Lienau as this year’s Keynote Speaker. Hear a recap of projects from this past year and a projection of what is on the horizon. Watch an encaustic monotype demonstration. View the collaborative portfolio exchange between members of CSP and the Print Club of Rochester. Participate in the members print exchange and elect next term’s Board of Directors.
In conjunction with the annual meeting, esteemed printmaker, Dana Harris Seeger, will offer a 2-day encaustic & screen print monotype workshop to interested CSP members the Sunday and Monday following our Annual Meeting.

Keynote Speaker: Daniel Lienau
Daniel Lienau, founder and director of the Annex Galleries in Santa Rosa, CA, a founding member of IFPDA, and CSP honorary member since 1988, will be the keynote speaker for the 2023 CSP annual meeting.
Dan has a unique perspective as a longtime gallerist and print collector and has requested questions from the membership to shape the topics on which he will speak.
Questions might draw on Dan’s firsthand experience of the history of print collecting and sales since the founding of the Annex Gallery in 1971, ideas about the artist as collector and community builder, or other topics.
Please, click HERE to add your questions and offer conversation topics to be discussed in an open forum presentation.
Daniel Lienau studied sculpture at the University of Wisconsin at Madison later moving to New York where he learned picture framing which eventually brought him to Berkley, California where in 1967 he opened a frame shop specializing in the conservation framing of works on paper, working with many Bay area collectors, publishers and galleries. He then moved to Santa Rosa where he opened the Annex Galleries. Since its opening, Annex Galleries has been a premier destination for fine prints and photographs with an international reach organizing exhibits specializing in forgotten printmakers, including “50 Years of California Prints”, “WPA Printmakers”, “Mexican Prints by the Taller de Grafica Popular”; a number of exhibitions of prints by members of the Atelier 17 from both the early Paris and New York periods; a number of original cartoon exhibitions including “Artists of Mad Magazine”, “New Yorker Cartoonists” and two cartoonists’ self-portrait exhibitions (including one of over 130 cartoonists who drew themselves in the buff, called “The Comic Strip”), and many other theme shows, such as “American Color Prints” and “California Abstract Expressionist Prints” annexgalleries.com
