The California Society of Printmaker is excited to help support the creation of an anthology publication by Zach Clark, National Monument Press through the Membership Engagement Grant Program. This partnership is a continuation of support towards Zach Clark’s collaborative introductions and investigations into the possibilities of traditional printmakers using this unique semi-digital medium, which began with the 2021 portfolio Ideal Engagements.

Project Scope:

Dedicated to the investigation of Risograph printing as a tool for traditional printmakers, this project will present as an anthology publication in book form. The Publication will feature 7 selected artists creating new work specifically for 1-3 color Risograph printing. The books will be printed in an edition of 200, with each participating artist receiving 10 copies.

Call for Proposals:

No prior Riso experience is required and CSP members in good standing, of all levels and locations are encouraged to apply. The application is VERY brief and low impact.

Proposal deadline: February 15th.

Proposal directions and application via the CSP Submittable page.

Selection Process:

Applicants will be selected by Zach Clark and Rachel Shelton, owner of Mirabo Press in Buffalo, NY.

Participation Fee:

There is no application fee, but there will be a $40 participation fee for selected artists, to help cover costs of initial education.

Timeline:

Applications open January 24th and close February 15th. Initial education and onboarding will occur in March & April. Printing will occur over the summer months, with a target release window of Fall 2023.
