About the Artist

About the Artist: Disassociating with comfortable art and becoming disconnected makes you feel uneasy. Maybe, viewing "disconnected" art gives the viewer a new sense of reality. Usually nothing is really as we see it or hear it. Perhaps this artist jolts viewers so they questions, what is going on in the world? We need to question. I travel the world with my cameras and photograph, not with preconceived ideas, hopefully with an open mind. In my studio I cut-out and rearrange my photographic images to create an artistic statement. I have the freedom to put cats flying in the air over tents in the Chinese desert. Is there a subliminal message here? There could be. My prints are a visual haiku. The effect and artistic statement are developed unconsiously. A paper plate is created, the whole plate is painted or drawn upon, like a painting. Then the plate is digitized and put on laser transfers. The transfers are heat released onto rag paper and an edition of prints is born. The photographic conception has now become a printmaking conception.
