| About the Artist: |
Evelyn Klein, painter and printmaker, born in Santiago, Chile, moved to Montreal, Canada in 1970, where she received her degree in fine arts and art education from Concordia University.
In 1998 she moved to California, opening her own studio, Equinox Press.
She presently lives in Carmel and teaches printmaking at Monterey Peninsula College, as well as at her studio.
The artist exhibits regularly at various individual and group shows throughout Canada, USA, Europe, Japan, and South America. Her work is part of many public and private collections, many of them having commissioned her to publish exclusive limited editions for them.
I have been working for the past six months on a new series of works titled “ Crossings.”
I am further exploring the relationship between humanity and the Forces of Creation.
My mathematical side has led me to studies of Kabbalah, Numerology and other theories which translate into my work.
The Creation of the world and our lives are governed by numerical principles.
I construct square and rectangular surfaces based on such formulas, achieving balance through an interaction between opposing gravitational forces.
My poems sift through veils of translucent colored light, infiltrating a sense of mystery and questioning, revealing through time... |
