BIO
I am a full-time printmaker & Artist-in-Residence at Kala in Berkeley, California, where I specialize in traditional & contemporary etching techniques, letterpress, & book arts, as well as pursuing a master's degree at SFSU.
STATEMENT
The line of movement along the silhouette of a figure or organic form, and the gesture of the line itself, inspires and grounds my work in printmaking. This line literally defines the edge of a form and the space it contains. And I am interested in how this 'living line' conveys the seen, which is physically expressed, and contains the unseen, which informs the truth of a movement.
In my current work, I am exploring the language of the line in landscape through systems, mapping, and deconstruction. Through these lenses, I create familiar abstractions, or layer fragments of perception to evoke a new experience or dialogue with our surroundings.
