Artist Talk and Demo with Susan Silvester

August 14 @ 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

CSP member Susan Silvester will give an artist talk and demo in conjunction with the exhibition “Traditional Prints: Contemporary Techniques” at the YoloArts Barn Gallery. Silvester will be the first speaker in YoloArts’ new “Knowledge at Noon” lecture series. She will talk about her printmaking work and also give a demonstration.

Susan Silvester is an interdisciplinary artist who is originally from NYC. Working in a variety of materials, she explores the possibilities of what different mediums express by using the same imagery. She recently won the Best in Show Award for the Effie Yeaw Art Where the Wild Things Are Exhibition at Sacramento Fine Arts Center.

“My interests lie in the use of imagery, specifically young adolescents, creatures such as bunnies, and imaginary landscapes as a vehicle to express emotions and relationships. For me, the narrative is in the realm of the psychological, rather than the literal.”-Susan Silvester
